Twenty-Eight Feet Rose

You will find this giant rose on the New Museum if you walk by there right now. Entitled Rose ll by Isa Genzken, it’s the second sculpture to be presented as part of the New Museum’s ongoing Façade Sculpture Program (The first one was “Hell, Yes!” by Ugo Rondinone). It’s a pretty (and HUGE) rose indeed. Caught my eye immediately! More information here.

I should stop by this museum again soon…

Needle Felting Extravaganza Photos

I mentioned this exhibition before, the Needle Felting Extravaganza — it is ending tomorrow… if you are in NYC, you still have time to stop by and see some amazing needle felting work, but for you who don’t live here, here are some photos I took from the opening reception night… Each work was so original and very creative, and miraculous attention to details, I was amazed! Hope you enjoy!

I’m starting off with Hine Mizushima‘s “The Unnatural History Museum”…

and as I see even more Japan relief things that people are doing/organizing all over the Internet (so touching!!), I just couldn’t resist posting this Heart Brooch by Hine — soo cute!! I’m going to have to get one for myself :) 50% of all proceeds from her shop will be donated to Japan earthquake fund.
