Wakamaru

I pass by Uniqlo in New York Soho every day, at least twice a day and I always look in to see if Wakamaru is there – yes, he’s always there and I like him! I have a thing about robot (my favorite is definitely R2-D2) and I’ve seen Asimo in Tokyo (in a glass room) but I like Wakamaru way better! I guess because Wakamaru is designed to be more for family and home and he’s in the store all the time, interacting with people (? kind of… he looks around and looks at you and gives his hand to you etc. He is supposed to talk you back, but I had no luck so far) so I feel like he is friendlier. and I love his yellow body. How cute.

and his docking station is in heart shape!

Yes, he is learning English now. I should talk to him in Japanese next time and see what he reacts!

For Friday fun inspiration – Happy Friday, everyone!!!

Fall Colors

I have been surrounded by such a beautiful fall scenery around here in NY, all the leaves are turning yellow, red, orange… but everyday, the leaves are getting less and less (noo!) and so before it all goes away, I wanted to post some pretty fall pictures for my/your inspirations. The colors are just amazing, nature creates the best colors!

Everything has taken around my neighborhood, Park Slope Brooklyn.

I want to use some of these pictures for my project’s color pallete. It’ll be pretty.

My Halloween and the City

This year, for the first time since I came to US, I couldn’t dress up… I was so mad that I had to work so late!

But I wanted to at least see NY Halloween parade so right out of work, I started heading towards 6th Avenue… and ohh my god, there were soo many people! A lot of people were dressed up, some impressive, some funny, I wanted to take more pictures, but it was just too crazy!

Randy was on 7th Avenue and I was on 5th Avenue, we couldn’t walk across 6th Avenue so we had to walk up until 23rd Street to actually see each other.

Trying to go back to 5th Avenue:

5th Avenue and 17th Street:

Empire State Building was in orange, it was so beautiful…

and it inspired us to go up there for the first time!

There was no line no waiting, went up to 86th floor, sky was clear and the city was wow, breathtaking!

So we had a little different Halloween night, but really, the city never stop amazing me.

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween!

Save Polaroid

I cruised by Brooklyn Flea last Sunday (ohhh my god, it was hot as hell!! I thought I did a farewell to Summer… spoke too soon) and I saw a “Save Polaroid” booth and to me, that was the most interesting booth at the market — I know that they announced that they will discontinue production of all instant film this year and I was sad to hear that, but seeing people actually doing something about it, I thought I wanted to do something, too! We must save Polaroid! You can go to “Take Action” page and find out what you can do… the Action Pack is actually really cool.

From the booth:

I purchased these Polaroid magnets… with the empty Polaroid film case packaging, I was sold.

and then, people at the booth gave me a “Polaroid Camera Girl” pin! I was so happy — Thank you!!
