Head Hoods

I thought I saw this guy wearing this Mexican wrestler’s hoodie on the street the other day and thought it was so funny… and I found the store! Head Hoods! The hood part is hand-printed with a profile of the mask and so when you wear it, you look like… a Mexican wrestler!

They have many many more here.

It makes me laugh! I like the idea, though, it’s awesome.

I like that it’s all hand-printed. That makes it so special!

Art of the Book

I found this interesting exhibition that is going on right now at Cooper Union called “Art of the Book” and of course I checked it out and took some pictures for my inspiration and to share with you guys here.

This work below was my favorite – it’s simple, but strong and most interesting, I thought. A pair of shoes and a roll of paper. Shoes have stamp on the sole, one says “I’ll go on” and the other says “I can’t go on” and it looks like this person walked on the roll of paper one step by one step to make a book of… life, perhaps. I love that it tells story (a deep one) by just looking at this work and you can imagine the thoughts that this person must have gone through, how he was walking on this paper etc. it is a great piece, I thought.

What a cool idea!

I saw a lot of creative books, too, and here are some that caught my eye.

Cool openings. Love the mixture of different size of texts.

Very cool typographic books with pencils.

Love the box.

A chainsaw book?

Its cover – cool wood!

City Love Prints by Art Shark Designs

This San Francisco Love gocco print has been on my etsy favorites for a while and definitely on my wish list for this holiday. It is just lovely and it reminds me of my SF days with Randy.

Art Shark Designs offers different city love prints and they are all so lovely and I’m sure it means a lot especially if you are familiar with the city.

I also like this Philly Love gocco print even though I never really spent time there… I’d love to visit Philly now because of this print!

I love that the couple have red umbrellas. That part is painted by artist one by one with watercolor. That makes it so special!

Snowflake Holiday Gift Tag

I have worked on another snowflake linoleum the other day! This time it’s a little smaller scale – about 2×2 inches. It came out so nice and I made holiday gift tags by using the prints.

Just got done curving the lino:

Used silver ink:

Stamped “To” and “From”

Punched a hole and had red hemp thread go through and here it is!

Happy Friday, everyone! I am traveling back to New York – see you on Monday!

*I am giving away this holiday gift tag for all purchases you make at my etsy store. Happy shopping!
