Unpacking and Jet Lag Weekend…

I have been fighting with such a jet lag ever since I got back… Getting better day by day, though, during the day is the hardest to stay awake…

It’s been a slower start than I would have hoped, but I shipped almost all of the orders I received during my vacation (thank you!) and finally unpacked all my suitcases, too :)

Picture is Maia using my suitcase as her bed…. sigh… It became her favorite spot instantly, even though I said “no” to her, next thing I know, she was there like nothing happened… oh, Maia.

Hope you are having a nice weekend! I will be back tomorrow with some posts from my trip! xo Hijiri

Maia’s Room

In between dining area and living room area, Maia has a little room for herself :) I’ve been wanted to do this, it makes me smile every time I see her there! ((Right now, her dining area and her sleeping area are a bit too close to each other, but as we finalize our living room area, she will have more room in between… so she can’t drink water from her bed any more — lazy girl!))

Her initial M and the framed art is by Jamie Shelman (yes, she does dog illustrations sometimes! We did a work trade while back, I love this so much!)

Sometimes, Maia sleeps just like the dog in illustration, it is so cute. I haven’t been able to take that picture, but someday, I will…

Hope you like her room as much as she does (and we do)! :)

Weekend in DUMBO

Hello! I’m here at the new DUMBO loft! The move was really crazy (I forgot how crazy moving is) but we are so happy here it was all worth it :) Still have a lot to do, but it’s coming along slowly, but surely. Can’t wait to finish!

How was your weekend? NY was so hot. Summer definitely came to say hello and it was so nice. In between our unpacking and work on our loft, we took a walk with Maia around our new neighborhood.

This is her new park: under the Manhattan Bridge.

There is a dog run, too. (where you can let your dogs run freely within the area) This is a view from the dog run.

Maia met some new friend…

Found: rusty letter O (I’m not exactly sure what it is really)

On Sunday, we brought our sandwiches and ate at this cute beach under the Manhattan Bridge :) You can’t swim here, though. Love this tiny beach.

We are so in love here!!! :)

Found Art: Dachshund at Ikea

This week is all about packing and moving (the big move is tomorrow! Wish us luck!) and Ikea trip… and look what I found at the furniture pick up waiting area — dachshunds :) ((OK, not so much the 3rd one with the striped body)) The tails are wagging, too, the happy ones! Made me smile :)

Speaking of dachshund… Maia is ready to move! (we are so not ready, though)

Have a lovely day, everyone! I’ll be packing all day… see you tomorrow morning :)
