I am so excited and proud to tell you that my work and my studio have been featured in this book called “Little Book of Letterpress“! It is a little BIG book, filled with lots of amazing work from all over the world! It is so fun just flipping through :)
The cover has a nice impression, too.
And I have a spread! Page 174 and page 175.
It should be out everywhere in US and outside of US, too. You can grab a copy here or here.
Thank you so much, Charlotte, for including my work!! She also has a great design blog, I’ve been a fan :)
I was recently asked to do an interview from lovely Jessica at Wayside Violet — and wow, she did such a nice write-up about my work and my studio, I am more than flattered, thank you so much!! Please read my little interview here!
Jessica also has a very cozy etsy shop, check out her stuff, too :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! xo Hijiri
Printed more “thank you” cards with wood types for my shop the other day and look what happened! “E” was backward :) It happens sometimes due to the mirrored wood type blocks, but thought it was fun to share it here. I flipped the “E” after this so just this only one.
In case you never seen this, this is something I print for my customers. I write a thank you note for each customer on the back of the card. You will receive one with your order*!
*not with poster orders, unfortunately… these cards are too stiff to include into a tube mailer :(
I have “Hello!” “Enjoy!” and “Thank U!” now. Let’s see which one you will receive…
Good morning! Hello, another week! Hope you had a great weekend…
Over the weekend, I listed some more holiday stuff in my etsy shop — letterpress gift tags! They came out so cute, I hope they will add some specialness to your warm holiday thoughts… :)
For “Merry Christmas” and “Season’s Greetings” part, I used blind impression — meaning no ink, just the impression. The set up and everything is the same, just print without the ink:
Makes great deboss effect! I love it! (I forgot my camera at home this day, these were taken by my iPhone… sorry for a bit less quality photos…)
Next, I printed “To” and “From” with very light grey:
I used stripes of papers (Mohawk Superfine papers — very high quality papers) that were left over from another project. No waste on papers! Worked perfectly for this project.
And here are the final product….
