Don’t Become the Things You Hate

Good morning. It’s Monday again. I hope you had a nice weekend… wasn’t it beautiful? NY was :)

On Saturday, I got to go to an interesting exhibition (literary art exhibit) called Don’t Become the Things You Hate presented by Seasick Mama. Each art was done in only six words and it was each artists’ expression of “how they survive” during the recession.

The Stand Alone Gallery is a mobile gallery and so it was on the street of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, it was pretty cool. And the exhibition was all black and white, only few words, it was standing out on the busy street of Williamsburg for sure. When I went there, they were in the middle of setting things up, but I at least got the art pictures… Enjoy!

Cool poster I came across entitled “STATES UNITED” — the heart shape in the middle is made out of each American state shapes all layed out differently and nicely, you can also see each shape / each state name on the bottom… I love the concept!!

“A xylene transfer is like a screenprint, but without the screen, and the artwork is hand-transferred inch by inch over a long hour.” — I never heard the technique, but it sounds like a long process… it definitely shows, I love the textures.

Wild Garden Print

Good morning. I hope you had a nice weekend and are ready for the new week…

Let’s start the week with a pretty print — Wild Garden (kaleidoscopic) from Yumi Yumi. Isn’t it lovely? I like that it almost looks like a heart shape and the colors are just so pretty. I first saw this over at elephantine, I had to ask where it is from.

and yes, the details, details, details. Very nice.

Pot Holder Wall Art
