Olafur Eliasson: The New York City Waterfalls

I posted about Olafur Eliasson exhibition at MoMA before, and this is his art installation also – The New York City Waterfalls. There are 4 waterfalls throughout the city, and I got to see 2 of them from Brooklyn Bridge Park!

I thought Brooklyn Bridge is so special – I have to go back! You can walk across the bridge so I’ll do that for sure!

Manhattan Bridge / DUMBO

We got off at York Street station (F line) to go to the Movies with a View, and we were right under the Manhattan Bridge – DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) area and we fell in love with the neighborhood immediately! We just walked by for the first time, but we knew we want to live there someday for sure! If I could see that view everyday, I wouldn’t ask for anything else. We’ll come back and explore DUMBO more!

Movies with a View

There are just so many events in summer time everywhere in NYC every day and night, it is hard to pick one! This Movies with a View, though, was easy to pick because it just sounds amazing – and it was amazing!

Last Thursday night was the first one this summer and they were playing “Stand By Me” (one of my favorite films of all time) and it was packed with people! We didn’t get there until 7:30 or so and all the good spots were taken, of course, but we got an OK spot, had dinner we brought and enjoyed every single minute of it! The view was just breathtaking!!! I think I was watching the view more than the movie… hehe

Red Sox vs. Yankees

On July 3rd, Randy and I went to see a Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium – my first time and the last time since they are closing this stadium at the end of this season (unless I get a free ticket, then, this won’t be the last time, but I doubt I would). It’s always a fun experience to see a game and also, be somewhere you’ve never been before so it was a great fun. I’m glad we got to go there before it closes, too, it has some histories there since 1923.

Around the stadium – filled with souvenir stores and sports bars as well as so many people:

They changed their rule a day before we went there that you can’t bring any bags into the stadium so I had to check my bag in this cute little bowling alley. *If you are planning to go to the stadium, don’t bring any bags!

The stadium – I love this feeling when you first see the field and bunch of people!

They are building a new stadium right next to it:

I never seen this many Yankees’ fans! (Thank god, we didn’t go there with our Red Sox clothes… people were so mean to Sox fans – it was actually hilarious!)

We were so high up… it is so hard to get Red Sox tickets since they were the champions last year.
