Steak & Jazz

It was Randy’s birthday on Friday (Happy Birthday again, Randy!) and so we went out to celebrate with Steak and Jazz – just like the way he likes it.

Smith & Wollensky New York – we ordered Porterhouse and it was huge!

(picture didn’t come out so well, though…)

Randy had a surprise birthday cake followed by waiters’ song and that was fun.

Blue Note New York with Blue Method:

They were really good! We enjoyed it very much. Blue Note NY was more casual and fun atmosphere than Tokyo one we went a while back. It was fun!

oh and I made cupcakes for him (and me, too):

Red Sox vs. Yankees

On July 3rd, Randy and I went to see a Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium – my first time and the last time since they are closing this stadium at the end of this season (unless I get a free ticket, then, this won’t be the last time, but I doubt I would). It’s always a fun experience to see a game and also, be somewhere you’ve never been before so it was a great fun. I’m glad we got to go there before it closes, too, it has some histories there since 1923.

Around the stadium – filled with souvenir stores and sports bars as well as so many people:

They changed their rule a day before we went there that you can’t bring any bags into the stadium so I had to check my bag in this cute little bowling alley. *If you are planning to go to the stadium, don’t bring any bags!

The stadium – I love this feeling when you first see the field and bunch of people!

They are building a new stadium right next to it:

I never seen this many Yankees’ fans! (Thank god, we didn’t go there with our Red Sox clothes… people were so mean to Sox fans – it was actually hilarious!)

We were so high up… it is so hard to get Red Sox tickets since they were the champions last year.

One Step Beyond feat. Pete Rock and Talib Kweli

I hadn’t been able to post about this event I went – the last One Step Beyond this year featuring Pete Rock and Talib Kweli! I like them both, especially, I like Pete Rock since back in 1993 and the last One Step Beyond I went was such a cool event so I was really excited to go to this.

St. Patty’s Day

Randy is an Irish so we try to do something Irish on St. Patty’s Day and so we went to this Irish pub in Park Slope last night (with Maia in a bag,) hoping that they also serve some food… and they did! for free! Corn beef, cabbage, and Guinness. We were so happy. It was a fun neighborhood pub, too. Park Slope is great.
