Found Type

A couple found type photos from NYC.

I see a lot of old building and old lettering on top of the building in New York, I just love the way it looks and the texture… (found in upper west side)

H.P. sign in Hunters Pt subway station in Queens that we got off at by accident. I like the different but the same color scheme brown tiles around the letter as well as the letter H and P.

The Art Of Wood Type

The Art Of Wood Type book by Gregory Ruffa is calling me… as you know, I am obsessed with wood types lately, especially after I got to actually work with them, it is even more special to me! This book looks like it covers its history, how designers use it as well as actual wood type names and collections – all in one. I would have to order one soon… You can see more pages and buy this book from here.

Found Type: Mets’ Stadium

We went to see Red Sox vs. New York Mets exhibition game on Saturday and while I enjoyed watching the game, I also enjoyed the brand new stadium, Citi Field‘s designs.

The entrance area:

The first signage I saw – thought this Met’s guy is cool….

until I saw the real (?) one and I didn’t think he was cool any more…

(pardon my blurry picture) All the signages are designed well, I thought. Dark blue and dark red are used throughout the stadium.

I like watching a live sports game, I like the energy so much. My Dad used to take me to watch baseball games, too, so I always like going to baseball games. Randy grew up with Red Sox so now I have someone to cheer for, which makes it funner and more enjoyable, too! Hope you all had a great weekend!
