9/11 Memorial Logo

Yes… it has been 8 years… today is September 11th… my thoughts are with NYC and everyone in the world who was affected by the horrible incident…

I saw this post over at Brand New, I had to share it here.

“Originally, in 2006, it was called the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, then in 2007 it evolved into the lengthier National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center. Now, eight years after the events of 2001, the name has changed to the simpler and more colloquial 9/11 Memorial.”

Designed by Landor in New York, I thought the new logo is very clever, simple, clean and strong. (That’s what I like the most about logo designs)

Fashion’s Night Out NYC

Last night in NYC, it was Fashion’s Night Out. The whole city was celebrating a world of fashion! Oh, how I wish they do this every month… All the shops were open til 11pm-12am, with free drinks, lots of goodies, appetizers, and store full of fashion items to shop, of course! (and a girlfriend to shop with, too, that completes the night!) I had so much fun!

I saw lots of cool designs… both fashion and graphic… I wish I documented all… but here are a couple things…

This flyer from Topshop caught my eye — very simple and clean; white, silver and black and just types. Silver letters are foil stamped so it adds more quality and texture, looks great on white and black types.

I love how it’s played around with different fonts and font weight.

Happy Friday, everyone! :)

Met Museum Bag

When I was cleaning my office area, I found the Metropolitan Museum of Art shopping bag. Yes, I keep stuff like this… because it caught my eye and I thought it was cool typographic design. The bag is gold and white lettering around — very chic :)

This reminds me to visit there again… maybe soon… very soon…

Tenugui Patterns

Good morning. I hope you all had a nice Labor day weekend here in US… I was unfortunately a bit under the weather so I couldn’t do much, but rest and work on our new apartment… we switched the rooms! When everything is settled, I’d love to share my new office space so stay tuned…

This morning, I am inspired by these beautiful tenugui patterns. Aren’t they just so cute? Fall is here (hello! I missed you all year!) and these are perfect fall patterns, I want them all :)

I wrote about tenugui patterns from Japan before, but I also found the pattern chart by month here if you are interested seeing more.
