Manhattan Bridge Entrance

I love cities with bridges. I grew up with lots of water and bridges in Japan, San Francisco has 2 beautiful bridges and of course, New York has a few, too! Between Manhattan and Brooklyn, there are 3 bridges and I happened to pass by the Manhattan Bridge entrance area and surprised to see this nice gate! I first thought it was a park entrance or some kind of government buildings ahead or something, but it was for Manhattan Bridge.

Bryant Park

I took a little walk in and around Bryant Park on Friday afternoon after having a lunch with Randy in downtown. It was a fashion week in NYC and I was hoping to see some actions while I was there, but I didn’t get to see much. The park is BEAUTIFUL, though, I must mention. It is surrounded by so many hi-rise buildings, it’s like an oasis in the city. There are so many cafe tables and chairs throughout the park and there is the cutest merry-go-round, too! There are many monuments/statues in the park as well as The New York Public Library.

Chelsea Flea Markets

I found out that every Saturday and Sunday, West 25th Street between Fifth and Seventh Avenues becomes sprawling market of antiques and collectibles and so we took a trip to Chelsea this weekend and there they were, not just parking lots turned into big flea markets, but also the whole area was filled with antique stores and cafes!

There is this “Showplace Antiques Center” on the same street, West 25th, and the spacious four-story showplace has more than 100 booths, each rented by an independent dealer, filled with soo many antiques!

Pictures are from the Antiques Garage – the whole parking garage turns into a flea market every weekend:

We couldn’t get anything, though, we had no cash… (I know, we were so unprepared, but hey, I can come back there every weekend so it’s okay)

Pretty Holidays

I love holiday decorations and illuminations. It is just so pretty! We took the longest walk of the year in 2007 on NYE, walked around all over Manhattan. Here are just *some* of the beauties I shot:
