Live What You Love 10th Edition

I printed more Live What You Love letterpress prints… 10th edition that is! Just in time for the holidays :) There are a few 9th edition left, but all the classic colors had been out of stock for months so I printed familiar colors + 1 new color… in sweet pink! Love this color, so cute <3

Custom Prints: Charles Bukowski

Lindsay from Lindsay Wilson Photography had another great project for me (did you see the previous post?) to help her create custom prints with couple of quotes by Charles Bukowski. They came out so nicely, I wanted to share!

Since it was 5×7 prints, I used smaller wood type blocks. With my computer printouts, pick up all the letters and try to form sentences…

All the letters picked, spelling double-checked…

Start locking the letters. Takes a long time…

Adjusting impressions and placements… I’m printing both quotes in one paper here.

After everything is set, ink the press and print…

For his name, I ordered a polymer plate. Setting up the plate on the base, ready to print his name separately.

and here are the final products!

Yes, perfectly imperfect, I just can’t get enough of the wood type loveliness… Lindsay and her husband told me the nicest things, made me happy so much! Thank you for another fun and wonderful project!

These letter candles from Bee and Bird Candles are so cute and colorful, making me so happy! I think this is created from wood type blocks, what a cool idea!

Comes in lots of different colors…

Comes in letter L-O-V-E, too — cute idea for wedding center piece, don’t you think?

and you can pick your own, too, to create your custom word — so fun! I’m thinking lots of possible words, I don’t know what to get! What would you get?! :)

New Wood Type

I’m so excited that I just acquired new (old) wood types! They are 20 line Gothic Extra Condensed. I can’t wait to print something new with these!

Brooklyn Flea

Last Saturday, I stopped by Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene — It was so great! I guess I hadn’t been there this year yet, I was surprised it got really big! I might have to go check it out every weekend now… (until they close for winter time.)

I found lots of inspirations, letters, took some pictures — enjoy!

I Love Typography Poster

LWYL Poster!

I was in the studio yesterday printing…. Live What You Love posters! A few people have requested a larger size of the print and I have been planning to do so for such a long time and finally, I accomplished the plan. Oh, my god, it was harder than I thought it would be! So I could only print 10 posters in yellow… I’m going to print more colors as requested from now on, I think, because it just takes time… now I appreciate even more of those hand-printed large posters!

Cutting papers – these tools are my friends for a long time.

Type setting my new 4 inch tall wood types! They are really beautiful.

Putting ink on the roller – it needs to be right amount of ink.

After printing one proof, adjusting takes long time… and the end result is here!

It fits in IKEA RIBBA 19 3/4 x 27 1/2 frame perfectly.
