DUMBO Arts Festival 2011 (Night)

I really enjoyed DUMBO Arts Festival again this year, here are some photos from Friday night (it was raining so much…) — first couple are from the Manhattan Bridge Archway area.

and I can’t believe I missed this “Immersive Surfaces“! Found the YouTube video of it, how incredible!!

This project was my favorite — Sweet Stream Love’s River.

Visitors are invited to send short love notes by sms from their smartphone, to be displayed glowing in the rippling surface of the “water”: a surprise for the person you’re with, a note of longing to someone you haven’t seen for years, but can never forget, a word of thanks or a pang of loss.

I participated it, too :) I didn’t get to see my text message there, though.

Irene in DUMBO

I hope all of you in East Coast had a safe weekend… we are okay, nothing really happened around us, thanks to God.

But few blocks away from us by the water in DUMBO did get some flooding (on Main Street and Plymouth Street), but the waters receded on Sunday and did no apparent damage. Found this video (by @barneyrobinson via DUMBO blog) and wanted to share!

My Live What You Love poster has been featured on a Cotton commercial!! See the very beginning and the ending on the left bottom corner?! When they contacted me, I was like YES!! Of course!! and now, it’s on a national TV commercial campaign :) yay!

I used to work at this advertising agency called Heat in San Francisco and they recently moved to a new office — and look what they made! A movie! Makes me miss these guys so much. Congratulations, Heat, the new space looks fantastic! The old office by the water was so special, too, with so many memories… it’ll be in my heart forever.

STOMP

Yesterday was my birthday (yes, I’m older and wiser today :P) and went to see STOMP for the first time! I’ve known about the show for quite some time, but never seen the real one — wow, I really enjoyed it very much! They pretty much made rhythm/music out of nothing and everything. It was funny and engaging, too. Such an energy I received for my new age year! :)
