While summer is screaming out of its name loud and clear everyday in NY, you can enjoy fall scene in Brooklyn Heights — at Cadman Plaza Park. I don’t know why, but these trees always change colors in the middle of summer and all the leaves start to fall… I remember last year was like this, too…

Maia and I took a long walk yesterday and went through the park — couldn’t help but photographing this fall scene. The grass is covered with fallen leaves!

Maia enjoyed it, too :)

Hello, Friday! I know it’s the end of the day Friday… I had a meeting around Bryant Park today and after that, I took a walk around the park and went to Kinokuniya (love this book store! NY one is big and I felt like I was back in Japan… kind of) and I totally lost my time.

The park was filled with people (until it started raining. aw) I love this park, it’s like a oasis in the middle of the city.

Love this carousel, too. I was imagining being here with my baby girl someday… can’t wait to ride on it with her! There is a bunny one, that’s the one she is going to ride :)

The High Line section 2 was just opened and so I went to check it out with my lovely friends on Friday. There are few new art there — this is entitled “Still Life with Landscape” by Sarah Sze.

Sze created an elaborate metropolis of perspectival architectural models that are bisected by the High Line path itself. The sculpture forms an open gateway that visually frames the views to the north and south, as well as allows park visitors to physically enter and pass through the space it outlines. The architecture, complex and dynamic, acts as a bird, butterfly and insect observatory, with perches, feeding spots and birdbaths throughout.

Emerging from the shooting perspective lines of the landscape of the High Line, the sculpture extends through space like a perspective drawing in three dimensions. The structure climbs, spins, accelerates, and emphasizes the open trajectory of the High Line and modeling systems of development and growth. The artwork is simultaneously an observatory, an experiment, and a metropolis, evoking urban construction, scientific models, and attempts to capture nature in situ.

There are open lawn spaces in the new section 2. It was closed when I was there, but can’t wait to sit there and relax at some point :)

and this gorgeous cherry blossom trees are from Prospect Park at Flatbush Avenue and Eastern Parkway entrance. It was like a pink cave inside :)

Everything is turning green now, summer is next!

I mentioned this exhibition before, the Needle Felting Extravaganza — it is ending tomorrow… if you are in NYC, you still have time to stop by and see some amazing needle felting work, but for you who don’t live here, here are some photos I took from the opening reception night… Each work was so original and very creative, and miraculous attention to details, I was amazed! Hope you enjoy!

It’s been a week since the huge earthquake in Japan, my heart has been nowhere but in Japan… but I am staying strong for my country, doing whatever I can to help. If you follow my tweets, I’ve been passing around some valuable information on how you can help etc. since SO MANY people and companies are trying their best to donate their art work and raise funds for Japan, I’ve been so very touched to say the very least. Thank you all so much!!

I was in the city this Saturday and had a perfect “I LOVE NY” moment — passed by the Bowery Mural wall (on Bowery and Houston, by Deitch Projects) and saw Kenny Scharf finishing up his awesome wall! I was so excited I had to snap few photos.

It looks like I was the only one taking photos, but he had a crowd of people around him, making it harder for him to work (it seemed like, at least) but I guess he finished it!
