Battery Park

Yesterday, Randy left his important paper at home so I went to hand it to him in downtown Manhattan with Maia and while I waited for him to go to lunch together, I walked around a part of Battery Park and took some pictures. It’s been more than 10 years for me to walk around the area, the first time and the last time was when I first visited NY and went to see the Statue of Liberty. Even though it’s still cold in NY, the tickets to Liberty Island was all sold out before noon already. The park is not only beautiful with the water all the way along the park and the view of the Statue of Liberty, but also, there are lots of memorials that make you think.

Of course, the tourist stuff. They wrap you around with the American flag and take pictures with you.

There was this big sculpture in the park that had been standing in the plaza of the World Trade Center for more than 3 decades, entitled “The Sphere,” it was a symbol of world peace. It was damaged, but survived the tragic 9.11 and came here.
